“The gospel of Christ is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16
When God created Adam, he was perfect and had a perfect relationship with his creator. Because God wanted a mutual relationship with man, He gave man a choice to obey Him or rebel. That’s how love works. It’s a choice. In order to give man a free will there had to be a way to choose God or reject God. Unfortunately, Adam chose to disobey God which broke that relationship and condemned all men to death. Because of this choice man has no way to redeem that relationship with God and each person is destined to eternal separation from God forever in a place called Hell.
Romans 3:12 “There is none who does good, no, not one.”
But God is also merciful and loving. Because man cannot save himself, God provided a way so that our relationship with God could be restored and we can dwell with Him forever. God sent His son Jesus Christ to earth as a man born of a virgin to live the perfect life no other man could ever live. He then took on the full wrath and judgement of God in our place by dying on a Roman cross 2000 years ago. He then rose from the dead 3 days later conquering death forever and satisfying God’s judgement.
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
We have a response to make regarding this action that Jesus did for us. He holds out this gift of salvation to any who receive it. How do we receive this gift? We just need to agree with God that we broke his law and then put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ knowing that Jesus did all the work and we did nothing to deserve eternal life.
Romans 10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
What will your response be to Jesus? Will you repent (agree with God that you have broken His law and turn from that sin) and put your faith and trust in Jesus or will you reject His gift and face judgement from God when you die? Once you die there is no second chance and God will judge you based on your actions in life and cast you into Hell away from Him forever. Please consider turning to Jesus and accepting His free gift of eternal life today. You don’t know what tomorrow holds or if you will have another chance.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
